About Ben Reber

Senior Associate Ben Reber

Ben Reber became a Shareholder at Wiley Reber Law in 2021.

Ben attended the Hamline University School of Law, where Ben grew an affinity for labor and employment law, and helped found the Hamline Employment and Labor Law Student Association – a six-member organization that closed shop shortly after he graduated.

Ben has over 14 years of experience in public employee labor relations, as he began his career as a law clerk with Law Enforcement Labor Services, Inc., Minnesota’s largest law enforcement labor union.

After law school, Ben transitioned to the management side as a Labor Relations Specialist for the City of St. Paul.  There, he worked with a 98% unionized workforce, and was on the butt-end of frequent angry calls from union representatives regarding all manner of employment and labor issues.

In 2018, Ben left government life and started with the Wiley Law Office (now Wiley Reber Law), where he specializes in advising both public and private employers on labor and employment issues, including contract negotiations and management, alternative dispute resolution, workplace accommodations, and employee misconduct investigations.

Licensed to practice law in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin, Ben is happy to assist employers in Badger country and Gopher territory in all manner of workplace issues.

Ben is a Rule 114 qualified neutral in Minnesota and has worked with multiple employers on resolving workplace issues before they reach the point of litigation or arbitration.

Ben has established a reputation as an effective management advocate with the ability to get along with parties on both sides of the table.  He also has the ability to take a line from a variety of mid-90s to 2000s comedies and apply them to any situation.

Outside of work, Ben is heavily involved in youth extra-curricular activities in his hometown of Forest Lake, where he practices the art of herding cats while coaching youth basketball, as well as being active in his local Scout troop.

Ben recently was named General Counsel of the Minnesota Public Employer Labor Relations Association, where he works with management representatives across the state in networking, and furthering their knowledge in all public labor and employment law issues.

Give Ben a call for any labor and employment questions you might have – he looks forward to working with you!
